Your liver is the most taxed organ in your body. It removes all pollutants from the digestive system and purifies the blood. While the liver is a powerful detoxifier, it also performs many other functions in the body.
Here are the most common indicators that your liver needs help.
1. Chronic fatigue
The symptoms of chronic fatigue syndrome are similar to the common cold, and you must have experienced them for at least 6 months before it is diagnosed. Chronic fatigue can cause liver damage. A healthy liver converts glucose into glycogen, which provides energy to the body. A damaged liver, on the other hand, can produce little glucose and has little space to store it.
2. Yellowing of skin and eyes
Other symptoms of liver disease include yellowing of the skin or eyes. Furthermore, the condition known as jaundice is not a disease in itself, but rather a sign of something that may be abnormal. A damaged liver often results in abnormal buildup of bilirubin, a yellow pigment produced by the breakdown of dead red blood cells in the liver. If your liver cannot remove bilirubin and old red blood cells, your eyes and skin will turn yellow.
3. Allergy
Allergies are often caused by an overactive or underactive liver. A healthy liver removes all potentially harmful particles and allergens from the blood. When too much material enters the bloodstream and a damaged liver is unable to remove it, the body produces antibodies and chemicals that form a visible rash on the skin.

4. Swelling of feet and ankles
When something goes wrong with the liver, it tries to repair itself by forming scarring and fluid buildup in the lower body, especially the feet and ankles. Although inflammation is unpleasant, it can indicate liver disease.
5. Weight gain
If you’ve always been overweight, in addition to daily exercise and a good diet, you should talk to your doctor about liver disease. When the liver is unable to process all incoming toxins (such as alcohol, artificial sweeteners, and high-fat diets), unfiltered toxins are stored in fat cells, leading to weight gain.
6. Stomach pain
Persistent pain in the upper right quadrant of the abdomen may be a sign of liver disease. The pain is usually mild but may become more severe over time. When the liver becomes diseased, it loses its ability to function properly, becomes painfully inflamed, and the body experiences symptoms of toxicity.
